Sabi : Jacquard Weaving

As part of an introductory course for Jacquard Weaving, a collection of upholstery fabrics was created. My inspiration for the same were old and ageing walls we see almost everyday and everywhere. Ironically, the process of decay gives these surfaces the character of a living being. This enables us to form emotional bonds even with supposedly inanimate objects, as we can see them growing and fading away with time.
Hand and digital artworks to study the subject.
Mediums used: soft pastel, watercolour, paper tearing, coffee, plaster of paris, acrylic, charcoal and pencil
Final artworks in repeat
